Ally Shaw, Chasing Tigers in the Dark, Life Lessons of a Fierce Survivor

How did I manage to become a successful business owner with over 300 team members and 17 restaurant locations when I almost lost my life at age 20? I was barely old enough to vote yet I believed I was cursed, enduring the relentless onset of trauma three times in a row. It all started when my first love was killed by a drunk driver, months later I was diagnosed with a very aggressive cancer, followed closely by incestuous sexual abuse at the hand of a family member. I locked the shameful secret of being a victim of incest far away but trauma continued to afflict me with multiple near-death incidents, a complicated divorce, chronic health issues, ten surgeries and a brutal rape that almost broke my mental health beyond repair. The sudden tragic loss of my mother-in-law  during the pandemic triggered a massive breakdown. My dramatic collapse was no accident, but kismet. The gift that followed was a long overdue invitation to finally address the demons that were attempting to destroy me after hiding in my shame shadow for two decades. This book began as a personal therapeutic exercise and resulted in over 65,000 words of life changing growth from the wisdom that accompanied the tenacious lessons. The scathing path carved my character into a pillar of strength, allowing me to see my greater purpose, to help others. The celestial message often came during a serendipitous visit with a tiger and a directive that was never easy. This is the story of an underdog who turned the stinging repetition of loss into a miraculous story of survival, winning as a multi-unit franchise leader in the #1 pizza brand in the world, devoted wife, and mother to seven amazing children.
